Covid-19 Update 14th April 2020

Published on Tue, 04/14/2020 - 14:38

As a supplier of healthcare and medical equipment to Essential Service Providers such as hospitals & age care facilities as well as clients with restricted mobility, Lightning Mobility is open for business. Our priority is to ensure our services remain uninterrupted.

  • Our Customer Service team continue to operate as per normal via email, phone and website enquiries
  • Our Warehouse and delivery services continue to operate as per normal

Our number one priority is safety and we acknowledge that for many of us the clients that we work with on a day to day basis are in the high-risk population.

In Person Appointments/Equipment Trials:

At this time, Lightning Mobility is still doing in person appointment and equipment trials.

Whilst during this current Pandemic, this is not our preferred method of appointment, we understand that this can at times be unavoidable. Prior to the appointment/trial our sales representatives will call ahead to ask whether the participant/client, and anyone else present in the trial, has recently been in contact with someone who has COVID-19 or has traveled overseas or has any cold, fever or flu-like symptoms.

Our sales representatives will be following our Coronavirus Company Policy and take precautionary measures such as washing hands, using disinfectant wipes before, during and after all appointments we well as face masks and gloves if needed.

Recommended social distancing is to be practised.

Showroom Visitors:

Our showroom is cleaned and sanitised daily and will be cleaned again before and after your visit. This includes sanitising all surfaces, door handles and equipment.

Health care professionals are also welcomed & encouraged to meet your clients in our showroom for appointments/equipment trials

All showroom customers will be screened upon arrival and social distancing requirements enforced. Any visitors displaying flu-like symptoms, or if they have tested positive to, or have been in contact with persons with COVID-19 or have returned from overseas in the last 14 days are refused entry.

Our staff will also wear gloves and face masks if requested.

We ask that you sanitise your hands with hand cleaner provided at the door before entering & leaving our showroom.

Recommended social distancing is to be practised.

Web Based Appointments:

Appointments can now be held via Zoom, Skype or WhatsApp
We can host clients in our showroom or at their place of residence and set up the appointment with your Therapist on a virtual platform.

If you wish to have appointments via web based platform then this will have to be discussed individually by your sales representatives. This will be treated by a case by case basis & may not be an option for every client/participant.

We are in no way ‘tech heads’ but we are happy to assist with getting your preferred web based appointment platform up and operating prior to your appointment. Just let us know when booking in the appointment that you need a hand.

Equipment Deliveries:

Delivery of equipment will still go ahead however we will ensure that before the delivery has left equipment will be sanitised as a precautionary measure. Our delivery driver or sales representative delivering the goods will be using sanitisers and have gloves and face masks available when meeting with customers as a precautionary measure.

Our delivery driver or sales representative delivering your equipment will call ahead to ask whether the participant/client and anyone else present, has recently been in contact with someone who has COVID-19 or has travelled overseas or has any cold, fever or flu-like symptoms.

No-Contact Delivery
Additionally we offer a 'no-contact delivery' meaning that we can place equipment at your door and let you know via phone that this has been delivered. You can then come to the door, we will step back 3-4 metres and you can retrieve your equipment and ask our Consultant any questions about the set up and use of the equipment as required.

This will also be treated by a case by case basis & may not be an option for every client/participant.

Service & Repair

Our service/repair technicians will still be available should your equipment break down. Our service technicians will be using sanitisers and have gloves and face masks available when meeting with customers as a precautionary measure.

Our service technicians will call to discuss the repair issues to see if repairs can be fixed over the phone or web based platform. If the repair requires a service technician to come out, they will call ahead to ask whether the participant/client, and anyone else present, has recently been in contact with someone who has COVID-19 or has traveled overseas or has any cold, fever or flu-like symptoms.

No Contact Service & Repair
Additionally we offer a ‘no-contact equipment service & repair' where equipment can be placed outside for our service technician to repair. You can then come to the door, we will step back 3-4 metres and you can retrieve your equipment and ask our Service technician any questions about the repair as required.

This will also be treated by a case by case basis & may not be an option for every client/participant.

Hire

Equipment is still available for hire on a 4 week minimum hire only. We pay special attention to clean the products before and after hire period. We sterilize all our equipment to ensure it’s clean and sanitised.

Supply of Goods

At this time, there has been a few delays in supply of good due to freight arriving by sea-freight and not air-freight. The increase in air freight charges have been directly because of the decrease in flights, and the extra expenses that their airlines now have to amortize over a greatly reduced number of flights.

Those clients whose equipment now has delays on arrival time we are working through touching base to let you know when you can expect your goods. We ask for your patience and understanding at this time as this is an evolving situation.

Stay safe, stay well, stay positive, and stay in touch.
